Arquitecture

Buenos  Aires  is  one  of  the  most  important  cities  in Latin America, and  it architecture  shows  it. The  city has 12 925 000 inhabitants.
Buenos Aires  is  named "The Paris of America" as  a  consequence of it architecture.

The  urban profile  of  argentine  capital is markledy  Eclectic  with  some  mixtures  of  Art  Noveau and  Art  Decó. Also  the  skyscrapers  are  part  of  architectonic  characteristics, that  makes  of Buenos  Aires a balance  between  the  european style  and the  modernity.




One  of the  most  important  characteristics  of Buenos  Aires  buildings are  the domes, towers  and  mansards  that  were built as  a symbol of prestige  during the  XX century.
Buenos  Aires is  the  most  important port and  city   of  country, and the second economical, political and  cultural  centre in  Latin  America.
The city  was founded in 1536 by Pedro de Mendoza, but  just  during  the  last years  of XIX century the  city  had  important  changes as  a  result of  economic  prosperity.
The architecture  of  city shows  the  mixture of  cultures  that  got  together  in  Buenos Aires, it shows a complex relation between many factors.
The streets, buildings, squares and cafés define the identity of city that is a result of history.
The city evolve from differents migratory currents.The downtown and the business center has a regular trace, with square blocks that makes of this area an organized space.


Buenos Aires has 2113 streets and 640 squares.
